Soft 3ml – for thin, soft and flexible nails.
Onyfix® Soft 3ml – is used for thin, smaller, softer nails and childrens nails. Soft is applied with a cannula and light cured.
Onyfix® is a versatile system and it can be used both at the PNF (proximal nail fold) and the distal edge at the same time. The distal corner can be elevated and fixed in place during the polymerisation process to provide almost instant relief. This is usually a half band of Onyfix®
For very tough nails, the band can be constructed in a T-shape for additional strength. ★ Distal corners can be packed with cotton wool to assist the elevation before curing
Onyfix® in place, it is then removed, leaving the corner free from the nail bed.
Children who are prone to picking at their nails and struggle to grow their nails successfully to clear a naturally free distal edge can benefit from Onyfix® It will support their growing nail and stop it involuting into the lateral nail fold. Children’s nails tend to be softer than adult. nails and Onyfix® Soft is ideal for this application.
Onyfix® may appear to work like a nail brace, however unlike a nail brace it will not cause pain from metal wires hooked into the sulci. Nor will it cause immediate tension or pulling as the composite is moulded to the widest part of the nail at the PNF. It is also very much easier to apply than a nail brace, with no glue or pressure required. It will stay in place without any additional assistance for as long as required. Onyfix® is usually left in place until it grows out completely.
