Empowering Beauty Therapists with Confidence, Skill, and Insurance-Ready Knowledge
Welcome to the Advanced Pedicure Online Course – a comprehensive online training programme designed across 10 easy-to-follow modules. Created specifically for qualified beauty therapists, this course reveals the professional techniques behind advanced pedicures, with a strong focus on safely reducing hard skin using precision blades
Led by Jessie, founder of Advanced Pedicure Training, the course was developed to raise industry standards and give therapists the confidence, skills, and knowledge to carry out advanced treatments safely and professionally. Crucially, successful completion of the course enables you to obtain insurance cover for the use of precision blades – a key element often misused in salons without proper training.
This training was born from Jessie’s concern over unqualified therapists performing risky procedures without adequate knowledge or insurance. Her goal is to provide structured, supportive training that ensures safe, effective, and insurable results for your clients.
Advanced Pedicure Training Q&A
Who is this course for?
This course is designed for qualified beauty therapists who already offer foot or pedicure treatments and wish to undertake advanced professional training in callus reduction techniques using a blade. It is not suitable for beginners or those without a recognised beauty qualification (NVQ2 minimum or equivalent).
Who is the course Accredited by?
Yes. This course is accredited by Course Accreditation. Course Accreditation is a global organisation that provides accreditation for training providers and service providers in a variety of industries. It is always worth noting that accreditation confirms the quality and structure of the training but does not grant legal scope of practice or automatic insurance approval.
Which insurance companies will cover this course?
This course provides accredited advanced training in callus reduction using a blade.
Acceptance of this training for insurance purposes is determined by individual insurance providers and may depend on your existing qualifications, experience, and policy terms.
Upon completion, you will receive an Accredited Certificate of Training, which you may present to your insurer for consideration. We strongly recommend checking with your insurance provider before enrolling to confirm whether they accept this training.
How is the course delivered?
The course is delivered fully online via a secure learning portal, allowing you to study at your own pace. There is an option to upgrade to in-person training but the course, as it stands, does not include in-person training or live client work.
You will have 12 months from the date of purchase to complete the course before access expires.
Assessment is completed through submission of a skills demonstration video, showing the taught techniques performed on a non-living model (for example, an orange). This allows assessment of blade handling, control, angle, pressure, and safety awareness without treating a live person.
Can I treat corns, verrucas and other foot ailments once I receive my certificate?
The Advanced Pedicure course does not qualify you to diagnose or treat medical foot conditions such as corns or verrucas. The course supports you in recognising when a condition falls outside your professional scope and when referring a client to a qualified foot health or medical practitioner is the safest option.
Can I work in care homes once qualified?
No, unfortunately not. Working in a care home would require a deeper understanding of foot health in order for you to provide safe and effective treatments. The Advanced Pedicure is designed as a professional development route for Beauty Therapists and Pedicurists and not to replace Foot Health Practitioners and Podiatrists.
What can I charge after I’m qualified? This would depend on your area and your own business costs, however, our students have been known to charge anything between £55 and £90 for an Advanced Pedicure, without a polish application.
What’s the difference between the Advanced Pedicure course and a callus peel?
Callus peels are a strong exfoliator that softens and reduces a small amount of callus. You find, once the skin has dried, that the hard skin remains and is only improved slightly. Although a great alternative for rough/dry heels, they aren’t advantageous for medium to thick callus.
The Advanced Pedicure training focuses on professional callus reduction techniques using a surgical blade, taught within a safe and controlled framework. The training supports therapists in learning how to reduce more significant callus build-up with greater precision. When applied appropriately and within professional scope, results typically last significantly longer than those achieved with exfoliating treatments alone.
Do I need to purchase lots of equipment afterwards?
No, not at all. Technically speaking you only need a few items to get started, however, we do recommend investing in a good quality foot product brand to give the best possible results. Feetcalm has been used in the creation of The Advanced Pedicure course, so we know just how great the results can be when using it.
Where do I get the equipment from? We’ve chosen items that are easily available on Amazon, although there are a few that you’ll need to purchase elsewhere. You’ll find a shopping list in Module 1, complete with links to the products, so you’re ready to begin your journey.
Please note that whilst we recommend Feet Calm products (available from Only Foot Care Ltd), we do not work for either company. Advanced Pedicure is an independent business and acts only as an affiliate of the aforementioned companies. Any issues with these suppliers should be addressed with them directly.
How long does an Advanced Pedicure treatment take? When confident, you will be able to complete an Advanced Pedicure treatment within 45 minutes, an hour with a gel application. To start with, we would recommend giving yourself an hour and 15 minutes to an hour and a half until you are confident with using the blade on your clients.
How long after I gain my certificate will I be able to work by myself on clients?
Once you have completed the training and received your certificate of training, you may present this to your insurer or regulatory body for consideration. Permission to practise independently remains subject to individual insurer and local authority approval.
If I’m unsure, what should I do before enrolling? If you are unsure whether this course is suitable for you, we recommend checking with your insurance provider and local authority before enrolling. You are also welcome to get in touch if you have questions about the course content or delivery.
Once you’ve signed up for the Advanced Pedicure Course, you’ll receive an email with access details and be introduced to Jessie, who will personally guide you through the next steps via the Advanced Training Academy.
